What is it?
Gaia is one of the biggest online virtual world and social community. In it you can make friends from around the world, hang out, play games, create a dream home (you will need adobe shockwave for this) and so much more.
Getting started.
You get started by creating your own personal avatar. An avatar is a character that represents you in the world of Gaia. With your avatar (Gaian), you can dress them up any way that you want. In order to get items for your Gaian you needed to buy them either with gold or Gaia Cash. Some items you can also get from quest, events, and others you can only buy with your credit card or Gaia Cash.
Gold and Gaia Cash.
Gold is the common currency in Gaia. To get gold you can explore Gaia, talk in the forums, play games, and many other ways. Gaia Cash is a new currency that has just been add this last year. Unlike gold in Gaia you can only get Gaia Cash in couple of ways. One is thought there online store found on the site. The other is buying a gift card at participating stores like Target, Rite Aid, and Wal-Mart.
Gaia’s World Community
Like most online communities, Gaia lets you talk to people in many ways. One way is by going to the forums or joining a guild and having dissections about different topics. The forums can slow down from time to time. Another ways is by going to the virtual world of Gaia Towns where it uses instant massaging. Some time it will lag because so many people are in that area of Towns. You can also send anyone a personal message (PM).
Games and Events
There are many games in Gaia that you can play. From fishing to playing Gaia Cards there are many types to play. There are even in the development of making a MMO game for the site. But in order to play any of the games or go to the Towns, you needed the latest flash player. The events that take place are usually around the holidays. During these events you can get cretin items that you can’t get any where else. There also quest from movies like “ The Golden Compass” that you can get items for completing.

Gaia Online is a fun community that has many ways to keep you coming back to see what’s happening. It also has many activities that can keep you busy for hours on end.
