Photobucket.com
Photobucket.com is an image hosting site which allows the user to upload pictures to post on forums, blogs and to commerce sites like craigslist and ebay. Photobucket.com is also now offering video uploads as well.
I have been a member of photobucket.com since 2005 and solely use it for linking pictures on online forums. My account is free and I have 8GBS of online storage. From 2005 to 2006 I experienced occasional uploading freeze-ups especially when trying to upload pictures larger than 2MBs. In 2007 I noticed a decrease in upload time and freeze-ups even on images of above 2MBs. Because of this, I do not have resize the image prior to uploading it to photobucket.com. One complaint I have is that around the time Fox Interactive Media bought the site in May of 2007, all of my pictures were merged into one folder, which made it hard for me to navigate my “bucket”. Photobucket.com also offers you to share you pictures with other members on the homepage, which to me is more of a distraction than a luxury.
Photobucket.com has proven itself to be a quick, useful and easy to use internet tool for people of all computing backgrounds and continues to offer plenty of space for even the free account user.
