del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website.   It is used to store your favorite web sites on a universal favorite key like on your home computer. With this you can share with your friends and family and anyone who has the same interest as you your favorite sites. This favorite key allows you to access the same bookmarks (favorite key) from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, as well.  On del.icio.us, you can use tags (personal name or nick name for your favorite sites) to organize and remember your bookmarks.

Advantages:

·         you can get to your bookmarks from anywhere.

·         you can share your bookmarks publicly, so your friends, coworkers, and other people can view them.

·         you can find other people on del.icio.us who have interesting bookmarks and add their links to your own collection. Everyone on del.icio.us chooses to save their bookmarks for a reason.

If you don't get it right away, I didn’t either it just seems to take time and practice to fully understand.

When you want to save a favorite site, there is a space for tags. In this space, enter as many tags as you would like, each separated by a space. You may notice lists of tags underneath this form. Popular tags are what other people have tagged this page as, and recommended tags are a combination of tags you have already used and tags that other people have used.
