 Twopeasinabucket review

For the purpose of this paper, I am exploring the Website www.twopeasinabucket.com.  I will review what the site is and discuss things that I like (strengths) and what I don’t like (weakness) of this site.

“Two Peas” as the Website is called by those who use it is a retail site specializing in the selling of scrapbooking and rubber stamping materials.  The site is supported by paid advertising thereby allowing for free use by its members.  The site is hosted by a company named Kaboose which is a family-focused on-line media company.  The site offers a readers forum that allows members to talk about and respond to craft-related topics that are of interest to them.  The site allows members to post pictures of paper craft projects they have completed and allows other members to view and post comments on these projects.

I consider that this site offers many positive aspects to potential viewers if they have an interest in paper crafting.  The fact that the site allows for members to post photos or communicate ideas for discussion in various forums is beneficial.  Not only can members post ideas they have the ability to respond or comment on posts made by other members.  The site also offers an on-line retail store where members can purchase the newest in paper crafting products – they offer a link to the best selling, or “What’s Hot” as well as to the newest arrivals, or “New Products.”  They also offer the links to other member’s blogs and offers a link to create-your-own blog through the Website.

While I found many positive aspects of this site, I found several that I thought were weaknesses as well.  First and foremost, I don’t like the fact that you have to be a member to post items and to purchase from the on-line store – they ask for a lot of personal data that I was not comfortable with providing.  The Website is also very busy and hard on the eyes to view and to figure out how to navigate.  It’s also not very user-friendly in that some times the links that you think will take you one place actually take you someplace else; uploading comments to the forums as well as posting photographs is also not very user-friendly.  Also, I was very distracted by their advertising and how they are presented to the viewer.  Another thing that I don’t like about this site is that there is no way to list products used in the creation of the projects as is available on a similar site, www.splitcoaststampers.com; if this were available, it would be easier to “scraplift” or “CASE” the projects shown.

As I have presented in this paper, it is my opinion that the strengths of this site far outweigh the weakness and I will continue to view this site as one of my favorites.
